Privacy Policy

DefenderDocs Utah (“DefenderDocs,” “we,” “us”) is a document-automation service operated by LitFlow Technologies, LLC for licensed criminal-defense attorneys and their authorized staff. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to the website at defenderdocs.com and the services offered there.
Information we collect
- Account information. Your email address, and — if you sign in with Google — the name and email associated with your Google account.
- Profile information you provide. Attorney and firm details you save to your profile (name, bar number, firm name, address, phone, email) so they can auto-fill your documents.
- Document inputs. The case details and text you enter to generate a document (for example, party names, case numbers, and any content you draft or ask the AI to draft).
- Usage and metering data. A record of each document you generate — the document type, format, and timestamp — used to operate and meter the service. We do not store the finished contents of your generated documents.
- Payment information. When you subscribe, payment is processed by Stripe. We receive confirmation of the transaction (amount, plan, and a transaction reference) but never receive or store your full card number.
- Technical data. Standard server and security logs (such as IP address and request metadata) generated when you use the service.
How your document content is handled
Word (.docx) documents are assembled in your browser — their finished contents are not transmitted to or stored by us. Two optional features do transmit content to a service provider to function: generating a PDF sends your document to our conversion provider (CloudConvert) to render the PDF, and using Draft with AI sends the text and any files you upload to our AI provider (Anthropic) to produce a draft. In both cases the content is used only to perform the requested task and is not retained by us for any other purpose. The provider processes it transiently to perform the conversion or drafting under its own terms and, consistent with those terms, does not use it to train AI models.
How we use information
- To provide, operate, and secure the service and your account.
- To generate the documents and AI drafts you request and to auto-fill your saved details.
- To administer your subscription, process payments, and prevent abuse or fraud.
- To send transactional emails (sign-in links, confirmations, password resets, receipts).
- To respond to support requests and comply with legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your document inputs to train AI models.
Service providers
We share information with vendors that process it on our behalf, under contract, only to provide the service:
- Supabase — authentication and database hosting.
- Stripe — payment processing.
- Google — “Sign in with Google” authentication.
- Anthropic — AI drafting.
- CloudConvert — DOCX-to-PDF conversion.
- Resend — delivery of transactional email.
Cookies and local storage
We use browser local storage to keep you signed in (session tokens) and to remember in-progress work. We do not use third-party advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
Data retention
We retain your account and profile information for as long as your account is active. Generation metadata and billing records are retained as needed to administer your subscription and for legal and accounting purposes. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time (see “Your choices”).
Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit, access controls, and row-level security so that your account data is accessible only to you. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your choices
- Access and correction. You can view and update your profile information in the app.
- Deletion. You can request deletion of your account and data by emailing us.
- Email. Transactional emails are part of the service; we do not send marketing email without your consent.
Children’s privacy
DefenderDocs is intended for legal professionals and is not directed to anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version here and revise the “Last updated” date above. Material changes will be communicated through the service or by email.
